How about if I don't know what to blog about, I just post a picture of our lovely selves?

We've got a few on board.

My Lawn-Mowin' Man

Friday, July 20

Kent has probably hiccuped for the 100th time tonight.

We have finished all that we need to for our little marriage and here are a few suggestions:

>>Don't be late to the temple. We were late to the temple. 15 minutes late. I was in tears until Kent whispered to me, "It's okay, we're here at the temple." I started calming down soon after that.

>>Don't wear flip flops to the temple. So embarrassing, but what can you do when you are rushed at 7 in the morning to leave the hotel? Just try not to "flop" them if it does happen. Who does that anyway??

>>At each reception there were little girls. Even if I had never seen them before they would look at me and then quickly look away. Hug them. They think you are a princess and they want to be your best friend, so let them! (proof below)

>>Make the reception cute and a priority all the way up until the week ahead, then forget about it! I shouldn't have worried so much about our 2nd open house. ehh, but that's just me.

>>EAT THE FOOD. Take 5 whole minutes (even if you are not hungry!), grab a plate of whatever, and eat it slowly (while sitting down). You will appreciate this in the night when you are starving.

>>Tell someone to save you and your groom some cake. Yeah, didn't do that. We got zipo.

>>Take your shoes off. They hurt.

>>And finally, Thank your parents and siblings. Write them letters and tell them how grateful you are. Family is amazing.

Being married is the best. This job we are doing is hard work! These little moments of working together at this job can be tough, but also awesome because now we can look back and say we worked together cleaning homes for families.
Cleaning every single dish and spoon and Tupperware lid these people own reminds me of how unimportant "things" are, and how important family is. I think this job has been quite the eye opener for me, and it came at JUST the right time.

I babysat these beautiful little girls who are not little anymore and keep growing!

I also babysat these two funny kiddos who loved to touch my dress.

More wedding photos soon! I'll put up a post of them.
Night.

Time to get serious

I haven't done like anything since we got to Utah.
So behind.

Love this guy. I am so lucky.

JUST quoted:
"I'm grateful for a bed, even this crappy one" - Kent Buys

What are you grateful for?

lame.

I am so lame at blogging!

4 weeks ago, we got married. 4 weeks ago, Eagle Mountain just about caught on fire and several of the homes have smoke damage.

We were offered to help clean these homes working with a crew and started today by cleaning an entire kitchen (washing EVERYTHING and wiping EVERYTHING) - aka "white glove" for 8 hours/day to you Rexburgians. That is our full time job now! We are grateful.

Here is a picture of me and 2 of Kent's cousins who were at his house on Sunday. Carissa and Lindy Lou.
My sister is at efy and I miss her :(

We are tired! Night.

little update

we just looked at the cutest little wedding photos.

Journey-ings

Road Trips are fun with fun people.

Kent, Claire and I took a little ride around the U.S. that only took us 7 days total. Here is our map:

Here it is on a larger scale:

Longest road trip I've ever been on.

During our drive we talked about the land and how dry and how there is nothing in the top corner of New Mexico/Southern Utah. If you have never been this route, the landscape reminded us of several movies:

Lion King
Spirit
The Sound of Music
Holes
Up
Cowboys and Indians, of course.

Awesome parts of our trip: Having our miles thing say 1234568 - we were 2 too late! We found an Antique store on the side of the road, passed it, looked at each other, and agreed to turn around and go in. Having the windows down for 1/2 the trip. That's like saving 20 bucks!
We learned: Grapes are not good travel snacks.

We took a break in Los Lunas, NM and our car didn't start up. That was the only scary part of the trip! All was well.

The reason we went through Oklahoma was because that is where Kent served his Mission! We spent 4 days around Oklahoma City area visiting people he knew. It was so fun and so exciting to hear stories and see the places he lived. The people were so friendly and we stayed with a family that only spoke Spanish! Kent did a lot of the translating ;)

We are onto another reception tomorrow!

official

WE ARE MARRIED!

I have officially changed my name on my Drivers Liscene, Social Security Card, Bank Card, With BYU-I, got our Car Title, etc. Feels good to get stuff done and move on!
AND I got most of my classes. AND we are packing tonight.

Road Trippin' it to Utah Days 1-6 begins tomorrow at noon.

And we bought a snuggly blanket today.

Life is good.

flies

Last night we spent the majority of the night killing flies, writing thank you's, and watching America's Got Talent. After the fireworks, of course.
THERE ARE SO MANY FLIES HERE! It's DISGUSTING. I am not kidding you, but I killed probably around 30 of them just yesterday. Not kidding! (I guess we do own a dog, it's Kansas in the Summertime, and 2 rabbits... BUT STILL!) We had a "fly break" during America's Got Talent and I wish we video taped it. We were complaining and screaming and Kent launched onto the bed to grab one. He didn't get it, but we were so mad and frustrated. It is so stressful to have around 10 flies in your room, kill them all, and then see one land on your computer screen. There is one buzzing slowly around my head right now. I just want to scream and flail!

Other than that, our 4th was great! We went to the Wamego show, which is supposed to be the biggest show in the Mid-West (I was told). We were so close to the Fireworks! Everything we saw would rain back down on us. It was such a fun event and we are so so so so grateful and blessed to have been born here. We love this country and those who serve to keep it free!

Today we are changing my name at the DMV and SSN and Bank. Fun! Then we pack to leave for Wichita, Oklahoma, New Mexico, then Utah! Fun little roadtrip.

Also we watched this this morning:
