What do you like to cook?

This week we have had leftover thanksgiving, ramen, alfredo, and cereal.

It's just been one of those weeks.

poll

The poll right over there

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

Was created because my granny asks me this one question every year and I never know what to say! This is what I usually get/say. (mostly I say $$).

Except the sled, that was Kent's idea.

That is all.

So last night we found a package shoved in our mailbox. Inside was my sister's old itouch, a book and a happy thanksgiving note from Parker. I have been so obsessed with that little itouch! Instagram is the best thing ever - it's like a mix between facebook and twitter. Ah I love it. I also love messaging my sister and face timing her and sending her snapchats. ha
//claire's itouch is cracked, and kent's is clunky and doesn't always work in wifi, so I'm going with claire's.
Speaking of that beauty, read about her life: here.

Today marks only 2 weeks and one day left of our semester. Then a break. whew.
I can't wait for Christmas! I wish we could be in Kansas, but we will be celebrating here, just the two of us and then travel to Utah for some family lovin'.

Two photoshoots this weekend! And we are going to see the Canadian Brass concert at the BYUI center. Love this school and life.

singing

Kent agreed to join church choir as long as I went to his basketball games. I thought it was a great deal and it made me so happy to go to the front with him today and sing for our ward.
After sacrament meeting, the piano player came to us and asked us to sing in a little choir for the Ward Christmas Party this coming Friday. We went to the rehearsal this evening at a member's house. Kent is a tenor, but has never been taught how to sing, so he sings the melody usually. Tonight he asked for some help.
All those years of piano, choir and band payed of for this one night. I was able to help my husband learn notes and the basics of reading and singing music. It helped me (and him) humble ourselves to learn and receive help from one another. That one hour of singing the same tenor line over and over was one of the greatest musical moments I've ever had. He's not perfect, but he is more confident in singing and reading the notes. After we were done he thanked me and I was so proud of him.
One of his goals is to sing in Sacrament meeting with me. It might take a while, but we will do it someday.

Black Friday

proud of kent for entering kmart - he thinks it's too cheap to shop there.

After a night of being thankful, we decided to spend our evening walking around the town of Rexburg to see what all the commotion was all about. Kent is very into "getting a good deal" and I'm like "why waste the time and money?" but I joined him this time. He loves it.
I have come to the conclusion that if you do not need a TV or a headache, then you'd be wasting your time. The lines in Walmart were RIDICULOUS. It was a bunch of nonsense in my opinion. Just another reason to spend money, and seeing our bank account balance I wasn't the happiest shopper (we really should save and there is no reason to buy $7 movies).

On a happier note, I have instagram! It is the best thing ever. I decided to dust off Kent's old iphone and try out instagram because I'm getting tired of facebook. It is wonderful. You can follow me here.
But I mostly just take pictures of our apartment, my crafts, kent or at school, because I can only use wifi.

Here is what I've been putting together:
1-snowflakes, 2-our flags, 3-hearts, 4-our thankful board

Horseback riding

Horses are SO pretty. Kent and I loved being out there and riding our horses "Homer" and "Slinky", the weather was perfect and we had so much fun, even while only walking in a line. We decided that someday we will definitely get one of our own.

My bum still hurts, but it was worth it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The real story of how it happened.
//We went horseback riding! Pictures to come.

TWL4P2

I felt like I was way to harsh in that last post, I am sorry. I am going to try to be better, more positive, and thankful.

Last night at 10pm we went to twilight (finally)! Kent had been waiting forever. I promise Kent is normal. He just likes it.
We started the night off at Wingers!
My dad takes these photos when we go out to eat, so we did too. (with the straws)
Once I stepped foot into the bathroom, our food came. #alwayshappens
After our meal that almost made us sick we walked it off around Walmart.
Twilight was seriously SO good. I kept whispering to Kent about the book and about people in the movie and what was going on. Then at one part I whispered, "I really don't think that was in the book..." Now you have to go see it messes with your mind!

Best quote of the night walking out of the theater: "I'm going to miss those movies, like I miss Sister Wives." - kent
I agree, they're different but exciting.

Family Photo

About a week ago, while we were in Utah, the Buys family had a free sitting at JC Penny for a photo shoot.

This is the best one. Snowy backgrounds and all of us wearing Santa hats gets me every time.

It literally KILLED me to watch them "edit" the photos.
Their techniques for each photo were:
-Zoom in on the faces
-Position the photo so there tangents
-Make sure the person's head is on a green line that sits at the top of the screen
-And add a vignette border

It was hurting me so bad, I had to leave to "use the bathroom".
But none the less, we got a family photo.

Merry Christmas.

Cocoa Bean is our Favorite

We live about 30 steps away from this place and it's our favorite. This was my dinner (and leftover mashed potatoes - go college).
Last night we went there with a good friend of ours and caught up. Then we went to show him our house, and kent and him ended up looking at Kent's old Pokemon cards. Boys.

Also we woke up this morning and the first thing Kent said to me was, "Twilight is tonight!"
Still a little more excited than I am, haha.

little things

It's really the little things that bring the most joy:

-snow.
-Getting a package of my sister's musical that she was in.
-Making gingerbread cookies at 9:00pm just to eat them that night with milk.
-Waking up to so much snow.
-Having Kent kiss me and tell me that he loves me - and means it before leaving this morning.
(He says "I love you - and I mean it")
-fresh, crunchy grapes for breakfast.
-and snow.

I love snow. and kent.

snow magic tonight

On our way home from the store it started snowing big flakes! And everyday while we do homework at home, we have the michael buble Christmas station playing. It feels so nice.

craft bug

Last night a craft bug bit me. I sat down and decided to sew some of my pants, because 5 of them have holes and I cannot wear them. I needed black thread, so we walked across the street to Porter's. (Another reason why I love our little home/location). While we were there I bought stencils and poly fill for a pillow that I wanted to make. I ended up making so many things:

This is to cover an ugly box

I'm obsessed with these hearts

It was going to be a pillow, but it was a little big.
New Cheap bed spread from Burlington! I made the burlap pillow.
 Thankful garland

 Leaf garland
These were from my bridal shower, I just put them up.
When I get things done, I just get them done. Absolutely no perfectionism.

Also I'm pretty sure Kent is more excited to see Twilight this Thursday than I am. He brings it up everyday :)
