One Year with the Ring

One Year ago Tonight we got engaged! So hard to believe. And about 6.5 months ago we tied the knot!
Here is the picture of us happily engaged:
We both look like little babies.
Here is us now!

And Here's a video:
{ps we just re-enacted the proposal in his living room - it actually happened in the SLC Airport}
And here is my blog post one year ago:
"It was so cute, and I was very surprised! So I was supposed to walk out of the terminal and see Kent holding the sign, but my flight came early and I was already there. Kent was shocked, but still proceeded to give me flowers. We hugged, then he showed me the sign then knelt down! It was so perfect and I am so excited to be married to my best friend!!
Our date is June 22nd, 2012 {we changed that} (THIS YEAR!!) in the Kansas City Missouri Temple. Woooo!! We are so excited and will keep you updated with all the plans. If you want to follow our day-to-day life, visit http://kentandanna.tumblr.com/ to see daily photos of us! :) {yeah that never happened}
Last night we celebrated new years together with pots and pans, sparkling cider, a little kiss, and an engagement! It was the best night of my life!"

It twas.
Today we went on a little date of sledding and tonight we are celebrating the fun 2012 memories we shared! Fun times ahead for 2013! This will be the last "year" I spend in school, hopefully. Then we will both be done in 2014 and move on, so I've got to make it count.
Happy 2013!

Camera problems

Having my lens in the shop is an eye opening experience. I have had it for 2 years, unharmed and then all of the sudden it wouldn't work. My desire to take nice pictures has increased and before I feel like I just took it for granted. One of my resolutions is to use my camera and take nice pictures as much as possible. It doesn't just have to be for work, or for school or for important times of documenting, it can be all the time. Especially around people. I want to be that girl who is awkward and takes pictures ALL THE TIME. (and never drop it again). Santa got me a really cool strap that I think will help with my camera dropping issues.

Today we go to IKEA, just to look around... but I won't complain if I find a cheap find.

Happy Friday!

Wrap Up

I hope your Christmas was wonderful.
We had a good one and now we are spending some days with the Mr.'s family in Utah.

Here is what you have missed:

//WORKING OUT
We actually decided to take the time to go to the gym like a week before Christmas. It's been downhill ever since.

//PUPPIES
There have been a lot of puppies around here. We found one on the streets and tried to take him to the shelter, but it was closed. So we played with him. Kent named him Maxi. As in Maxi Pad.

That same day the Raricks texted us that they got a new puppy! Named Mimi! We love her so much.

//CHRISTMAS (and my fave pic of nora)
Gloves and a new Glue Gun. Couldn't be happier.

I've been cleaning my computer and here are some photos I found.
//SOME OF MY FAVORITES (from a long time ago)

Have a wonderful time with Family or a good rest of your Holiday Break!

Woodman Apartments

Many people have asked about where we live. We all know how hard it is to find married housing in Rexburg and for a good price. We live in an old apartment above the bed place called "Woodman Apartments". They are $450 a month but there are only 7 of them. So the trick is to get them at the right time when someone is moving out. Utilities are about $20 a month.
There is a ballroom right across the hallway from us where dances are held each day after school and also wedding receptions occasionally on the weekends. The noise isn't too bad.
This is our Laundry Mat. $1.25 to wash and $1.00 to dry - quarters only.
Here is our living room
Our dining room area and kitchen
And here is our storage. That's what stinks about these apartments. No storage.

I spy the temple!
Our little Kitchen - no dishwasher.
To the left is the little clothes space behind our door in our room. Also, we have a shelf in our bathroom. Little space.
Bedroom closet
I hope that helps. Every apartment is different and was built like 100 years ago. They are so fun.

6 months of marriage was yesterday!

We spent the day waking up at 11am, teaching 12 year olds at church about MARRIAGE IN THE TEMPLE (go figure-we needed the reminder probably more than they did), making a huge yummy dinner, taking pictures (dropping my lens..and bawling), eating chocolate covered pretzles like there is no tomorrow while watching elf, taking a long hot bath with candles, and then doing doughnuts in the church parking lot until we both felt sick.

6 things I have learned to do through this little journey:
1. ALWAYS, always pay your tithing. Even when it's really hard.
2. Don't sweat the small stuff. It's not that big of a deal.
3. Tell each other how you feel, even if it's good!
4. Work together on things, we tend to come together when we do.
5. Pray on your knees together.
6. Love Love Love each other.

Love you always Mr. Kent Buys.

//I did an awesome post on our little home. coming soon.
//We both got pretty good grades!
//It is snowing like a million zillion flakes.
//My lens will not automatically focus :( Getting it fixed asap. Never take your fancy stuff for granted!

Sweater Winners in their respected positions
Kissing Ornament game! Thank you Lauren for letting me post this without your consent :)
 The couple that won!
annnnd the after math. Good times!

scared out of my pants

I changed my major.

This has been the most adult-ish thing I have done since being an adult (when did that happen??) and I didn't even call my mom. BYU-Idaho lets you change your major as many times as you want before you hit 60 credits and I'm at 54. On WEDNESDAY it will be too late. I will have the next semesters credits count towards my credit limit, which will then be 69.

I HAD TO DECIDE THE REST OF MY (college) LIFE TODAY.

Yes, there were tears and yes I scared out of my pants. But this is something that I think will help me. It will get me out of my shell and into the professional world. Every time I pictured myself graduating, I saw a little girl holding a "web-design" thing and said ew. "Communications" sounds much better and well rounded. I've been through Elementary Education, and Web Design. I want to major in Communications and have my emphasis in the Visual Communications part of it. Heck, I WORK for a communications department and love it (sometimes) so why not?

Also, it will take 63 credits to get to my Web Design Major, Photography Minor.... and only 55 credits to my Communications Major, no minor.

I just can't wait get through this college thing and then have a baby!

Here we go!

going crazy

Last night Kent and I were spitting dry Reese's (REE-SEE's)  puffs cereal into each other's mouths. I am really excited for this week to be over - we're going crazy.

Every Monday Kent gets up at 7:30 to be at his 7:45 class. He kisses me goodbye and then I do not see him until noon. This morning he left (I go back to sleep) and an hour later he was back! It was the best thing ever! He came and snuggled next to me and said it started snowing today, so he wanted to drive me to my 10:15 class. We snuggled and talked about what he learned in his Nutrition class this morning. He said it was about infants and children and eating habits  You can pick your battles with your kids by not buying sweets or not making cookies everyday. That makes sense. We also had some alone time, which was wonderful.

I love my husband.

Spirit of Christmas

//After preparing for our little Christmas party we are having tonight, I sat down to study for a quiz and somehow came upon this video. It made me really think what this season is all about and why we are celebrating it and how the greatest gift we have all been given has been our Savior. I am so grateful for Him and feel truly blessed to think of all he has given me. This is what needs to be my focus. //

Merry Christmas.

DEVO

At BYU-Idaho every Tuesday at 2:10pm we have devotional. Some call it "devo", but I call it devotional. During devotional there is a hymn, a scripture, a song from the choir and a talk by either a teacher on campus or a personnel from BYU. 5 minutes into their talk I am GONE. Like all the time. Kent and I get PLENTY of sleep. It's just the mixture of lunch, then the songs and the music and the inspiring words......
Well today I stayed awake. It was the last one of the semester, so I thought I should, and something was telling me to stay awake.

This is what I wrote down.

>>You make a celestial marriage every day. If you both have high goals, and work every day, you come together by working toward the same thing. Small conscious choices. Slowly your heart will change and you will be a better disciple of Christ.

His talk wasn't even about marriage at first, and then it magically was and I thought it was so important for me to hear. Kent was awake too. It's up to us to start now making awesome goals and going for them small and consciously making small improvements...

Eventually we will be awesome, but for now we will fake it and work at it to make it.

Out of all the pictures I took this year, I thought I took one at devotional, but I guess I didn't post it. But here is a picture of us dressed up - it was probably a devotional day.
I miss long hair sometimes...

Also we have a button! Please take one  :)

November Thankfulness

My personal favorites: Deseret Book Chocolates | Santa & Mrs. Clause | The Fridge | and My Smokin' Hot Wife.

What were you thankful for in November?

Singing and Smashing

The Christmas Party was a success. We were asked to be on the clean up crew and we did a mighty fine job.

We also sang :) *I sang tenor to help Kent along*

But guess what else we did?

SMASHED PUMPKINS!! We still had our golden pumpkins and decided to go smash them.
Still kids at heart.
