Hey Hey Hey! Happy Friday Ya'll!

In 2 Peter chapter 2, we learn much about false teachers and characteristics of them to look out for today. The main characteristics that I believe are easy to see today are: speak evil of things they understand not, speak words of vanity, riot, speak evil of truth, with feigned words make merchandise of you, they promise you liberty but are servants of corruption. These are all things that go against the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are so many false teachers and proclaimed prophets out in the world today, we must be wise and look for these signs and most of all, pray to God and ask if it be true or not.
In the end of 2 Peter 2 we learn that once we have learned of the truth, we must not turn back to old ways. We learn that unto him who much is given, much is required. Let us all learn more of Christ and his gospel, and share it with others. Let us all continue forward with Christ and not return to old ways!

Birthday Man

For Kent's Birthday I woke up early and made mini pancakes and we watched his birthday video :)

I video taped him while he watched it:

He is praying at first...and the video gets kind of loud

After school and work, we went to the temple - one of the greatest experiences ever.

Then we went to a birthday dinner! There are 2 taco buses around Rexburg. Now there is a third  but it's in a GARAGE! The food and atmosphere are so great and fun and authentic.

We ate and then filled in our brackets and opened some gifts/cards from family.

He was so excited about his birthday cards. THANK YOU FAMILY!

Then we stopped at DI looking for bikes, and then decided to look at nice ones from Walmart. It was so much fun just to do nothing and look at random things. On the way out we rented 2 redbox movies (for $1.48 - what a deal!) and watched them BOTH with brownies and ice cream.

Living what we believe

Feliz Dia Nueva!

James 1,3, and 4 talk about how the tongue or what we say can be wonderful and lift others or can really hurt others. From these verses we are reminded that God wants us to be slow to speak, and slow to wrath. As we get upset, then the tongue turns evil many times. I believe if we can control our anger, it will be easier to control what we say. We must always think before saying something.

I love how we learn that we must have Good conversation and works with meekness of wisdom. Let us remember to speak good to others, and about others when they may not be around. We must speak good always. The world is so much better as we speak good always and look for the good in everything.

I love our family! Happy birthday BABE!!

This has been by far the most interesting waking up week of our lives!

Tuesday Morning: Kent leans over at 4 a.m. and says, can you turn the alarm on for 7? I roll over and say, "Hi Mommy." After cracking up, he asks for a pillow and I find it on the ground and swing it up to him and it hit his face. We laughed again.

Wednesday Morning: The alarm goes off, I wake up thinking I need to get Kent's attention AND i need turn the alarm off... So I smacked his head. So sorry, babe.

Thursday Morning: We both didn't have class this morning, so we decided to snuggle some more and in the process, bonked heads.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
Oh, and someone turns 24! Wish the Kenter Happy Birthday if you see him :)

Happy Day

Today was a happy day as you can see by our faces. The weather was alright, but the good news was that Kent is home! He came late last night (from Utah) with a scruffy face and 2 jars of nutella. 

For lunch today we ate and giggled together. Then kept school work and work short to come home to take a photo *above* and shop at Walmart then watch our favorite show's season finale - THE BIGGEST LOSER!

After watching people loose a total of 100+ lbs. I had extra motivation to go with Kent to the gym.We worked out and came home to eat a protein shake and nutella-peanutbutter sandwiches.

life. is. so. good. 

Before Kent crashed on the couch a few minutes ago... he said, "My armpits smell like cucumbers!" And invited me to smell them.  Now I need to wake him up to go to bed.

Also I found out (2 minutes ago) that the (what I call) "Nzone" is actually called the "ENDzone". Look what school can do to you. CHANGE LIVES!

Today I worked in the Temple with Lauren Dominguez subbing for her hubby Daviid. It was so fun. But I betcha didn't know that they are famous!

Paul's exhortation to go about doing good!

In Hebrews 11, Paul gives the saints counsel and teaches them to do good and how we are sanctified by Christ our Savior.

I love to relate the scriptures to us in these days, so in verses 1-3, Paul tells us to let brotherly love continue, and to not be forgetful to entertain strangers, which means to be hospitable to them. He also urges us to have compassion on strangers and those "in bonds". We must all learn to better love and care for our brothers and sisters here on earth. We all need love and care.

Paul warns us of covetousness, and tells us to simply be content with the things that we have, because he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Paul is teaching us that Heavenly Father and Christ are completely trustworthy and are always there for us and always watch out for us.

We are sanctified as we bear Christ's reproach and offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, giving thanks to his name continually. Let us stand up for Christ and his gospel and always be grateful for the many blessing we have, both temporally and spiritually.

Paul ends by asking us to pray for them (Paul and the brethren). Let us pray for one another and for those that are in need. Prayer is a powerful tool Heavenly Father has blessed us with.

 So about a week ago it snowed slush from the air. It was so awesome I stopped to take a picture of my head. Also, like the new watermark?

Talents

My photo class brought up a scripture today that I thought was very powerful and worth bringing up. And since Kent does all these spiritual posts, I thought I would add one to the mix.

In verse 18 the man hid the Lord's "money". This means it was something of value. I'm just afraid I'm not using all the Lord has given me to the best of my abilities. I know that I can be kind all the time, and am I?

Before we came to earth we were given these talents to build the kingdom of God and to lift others. If I look at my life like that, it adds a whole new perspective.

We also watched a nike video clip that talked about all the excuses you can come up with. It's not worth it. Just do it.

Jesus Christ: Our Savior and Redeemer

Happy Thursday!!!
The scriptures teach us so much about our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon and the Bible.
In Hebrews chapters 2, and 4, Alma 7, and Doctrine and Covenants 122:8, we learn much about why Christ came to earth.
Christ came to earth to:
-be tempted to be able to know how to succor his people.
-descend below all by suffering for all sins, pains, and sicknesses of all people.
-loose the bands of death (resurrection)
-baptized to show everyone that we must repent and be baptized.
-blot out transgressions of all people that repent, are baptized, and are faithful.

I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. Let us remember Him always and strive to be more like him, and serve all that are around us.

//Kent and I went to the lost and found sale that BYU-Idaho puts on. Kent found a very nice basketball that he was so excited to put his name on. He has never owned a nice basketball. Big moment in our house this week.
