Where in the world have we been?

Rexburg!

I have not blogged for a whole week and a half! We have been busy working working working. I have two jobs on campus and Kent has one. And nothing seems to happen that I feel is worth blogging...

We were talking today about how it would be neat to live close to family to just hang out and do laundry, but we are so happy we have each other here in this great town in Idaho.

I promise I will blog this week. And sorry about the randomness of this post.

1 year (!!!)

Our first year has been amazing. We have been able to learn more about each other and how to communicate better and help each other. Kent is an amazing man and I am so blessed to be his!

I woke up to flowers, waffles with bananas and reese's minis - my favorite! Then at church we helped (played) in nursery. So fun, Kent is so good with kids! It's so awesome to see.

We came home and took some photos, then made some oreo truffles, and danced to our wedding song. After that we took a 3 hour nap and then woke up and made dinner to go on a picnic! Before the picnic I gave Kent his gift for Father's day and our anniversary. I gave him a new tie, a book entitled, "Family Matters" and some fancy chocolates. He loved it all - especially the book.

We rode our bikes to the park! Kent even rode his broken one!! That made me so happy. After dinner, we read my journal of our wedding day. It was fun to remember things written and not written down.  Then we wrote goals for this year. I love working together and talking about everything with him. During the middle of this, a huge gust of wind came. It was the most random thing ever.

After it calmed, we read our scriptures and played Frisbee.
I love this guy and am so happy we were married for forever.

kodak moment

It's so fun to stumble upon hilarious photos that you forgot you took in Kansas. Somehow these two just ended up cuddling and I couldn't resist the kodak moment.

Also this made me laugh:

These were taken while we took beach pictures after a wedding in California! I had to get some of me at the beach.

did you know we have fish? we let a 4 year old name them. Spike, Spot, and Prince Zuko :)

Claire

My sister is amazing. I just love her so much. My sister makes the world so much better! I can't wait to have you here, Claire. But I know we are in places at certain times for a reason, and you just need to find yours. Only 48ish days until you come to Idaho! You are so beautiful and lovely. Not to be selfish, but I'm glad you are only my sister and no one elses! Love ya - (sign language love sign).

Read about her daily life here.

p.s. these are the first TWO pictures we took out of like 50. Go us.

Love shoot

There is nothing like a field and two people in love.

see a few more photos here.

Our getaway to Salina, KS

Kent Served his mission in Oklahoma City, which isn't too far from here. There he met people, taught the gospel and ate a lot of food. One of the restaurants he loved is Braum's - a Mid-west burger & ice cream place. The closest one to my parent's house is Salina, KS which is about 1.5 hours away. So we took a little roadtrip. Just for a burger :)

Here are some pictures of Braum's and Russell Stover's:

Since we were in Salina, we went downtown to look at the antique stores. We found a mural along our way.

I have always wanted to find an old camera to start a little collection. No luck at all the stores, until the last one. I bought this beauty for $6:

Satisfied with this guy, we looked through the rest of the store and found tons more! I saw one that was $32 but had a flash and was in really good condition. Kent persuaded me to get it. So we bought one more:

A couple days after that hunt, we went home to my grandma's house where she told us about her older camera. She asked if we would like to have it and sure enough we got it! We just upped our camera collection by 3 in one week.  The only other film camera we have is a pentax my mom used in college. I use it on occasion.

I plan to maybe buy some film for one of the new ones and try it out!

update // last night we dated and went to the drive in movie theater and also planned our one year anniversary plans (!!!) I can't believe it's been a year. Happy times.

Kansas City Temple // June 08

Before our flight home, we went back to the place we were married and sealed together for eternity. It is such a beautiful place and I feel closer to the Lord and to Kent every time we go to a temple. But especially this one :)

My Grandma's House

My grandmother was born in France. She met her husband in France while he was serving in the military. She would ride her bike to the campsite to see him. It is the cutest story ever, and they ended up getting married and moved around the United States.  He passed away a while ago while here in Kansas and she stayed. Here are the cute things of her home.

I didn't get a picture of it, but she grows a peony bush just for Memorial Day, so that she can bring beautiful, fresh flowers to her husband's grave.

Proud to be an American!

Just everything about it is cute and has personality. Like the magnents on her fridge, the stove that doesn't work in the right hand corner of the picture (so she can store things in it), and the plates on the wall from France. I love her.

This is probably my favorite picture of her. She loves her kitty, socks and I love her personality. I'm so grateful she is my grandma.
