Beautiful Day

I have known Jenell for a little over a year now, and getting to photograph their engagements, bridals and wedding has been such a treat and wonderful experience. I am so excited for them and they just make me happy every time I am around them! The morning of their wedding day was dark and gloomy, but right when they walked out the sun came out too.

Congrats you two!

Solutions to life's challenges

Hey There!
Today I found out the place where we can find solutions to life's challenges: The Scriptures!
I find myself complaining throughout the week over such minor things that aren't important, especially over school and teachers, lots of things. But, I feel that I have lots a great help and advice after reading in Phillipians. The simple reminder from God and his servants to do all things without murmurings and disputings (Phillipians 2:14) really helps me to be grateful for all the small things in my life and realize what is important.

I love the scripture found in Phillipians 4:13- I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Christ can help us do and overcome anything that we have in mind as we have a true desire and sincerely search for his help through prayer and through action. When we need help, and know not where to find it, open up our scriptures and the words of Christ, and the Words of Christ will tell us all things that we should do and will guide us in our everyday lives.

The Scriptures are wonderful! Hasta luego!

Never gets old

BYU-Idaho

President Clark (President of BYU-Idaho) at a Q&A session

This has been a really great semester. I have officially decided a major, I'm involved in the school newspaper, balancing work and everything else isn't too bad, and I'm getting enough sleep each night. I even run into my husband sometime each day.

We live so close to school, we have three semesters left then an internship, we both have great jobs, and our classes are good for us & they make us better people. Almost every night Kent tells me something new he learned in his Exercise Physiology class. Last night it was something about muscle biopsies. He's so into his classes and it makes me so happy! Good job babe :)

It's really a great time in life and I don't think I've appreciated it as much as I should. This is a wonderful time to be here and pursue a degree.

I have no idea where life is going to take us, but I do know that now we're getting the education we want and a spiritual aspect as well.

Things couldn't be better.

Wife of the week award goes to...

These have been dirty and overtaking the sink for the past two weeks. They smell and make you feel so bad all the time. It's just overwhelming thinking about starting to wash them. Yay for no dishwasher. Kent went home teaching at 4pm and so I decided to tackle them. I finished at 5:30pm. We have learned our lesson about doing the dishes early and right away.

After this episode of dishes, I felt like I was on top of the world. I made Kent wipe the mirrors then I: moped, cleaned the bathtub, scrubbed the mat that goes in the kitchen, cleaned the toilet, the kitchen sink, cleaned out the fridge, re-arranged the cupboards, wiped down the trash can, and took out the trash.

Sunday is a cleansing day - sometimes I take that literally.

& sorry these are really grainy photos.

Pauls counsel that leads to Salvation

In Romans 12-13, Paul gives us much advice and counsel that will help keep us on the right path and lead us to Salvation.

Here are some of the main verses that I really liked:
12:2- Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. When we are focusing on worldly thing all of the time and putting them before Christ and his gospel, we can't have that renewing of our mind and grow spiritually. I need to work on this and keep my focus on important spiritual things.

12:9- Having sincere, unfeigned, real love for all. We must love others as ourselves. As we strive to have this and act on it, we can become more like Christ.

12:16- Think of others as equals and as equal as you. It is so easy to put others down and feel that we are better than others. Everyone is equal in God's eyes, and that is how we should be also. I believe as we forget ourselves by thinking of and serving others, we become more humble and view others as God and Christ do.

I am grateful for Paul's counsel and I know that as we focus on important spiritual things, and serve others, that we will see others as we see ourselves and we can have sincere love and concern for all.

Have a great Weekend!!!!

Christ and Baptism

Hey Hey Hey!

I studied about Christ and the symbolism there is in baptism and Christ's life. In Romans 6 it talks about the symbolism between baptism and Christ. It is so amazing the way Heavenly Father has set up baptism and knew that we would be able to understand it better by the symbolic meaning with it.

It is neat that as we are submerged in the water we are burying our old self and old practices that weren't in harmony with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and as we come out of the water we are becoming new and walking in a newness of life.

Baptism and the opportunity to renew our baptismal covenant each week by partaking of the sacrament shows to me the love our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ have for me and for everyone. They want us to succeed and want to help us and are always there to help us. This has made me want to better prepare myself for the sacrament and remember that each week as I am repenting and striving to do my best, that I can walk in a newness of life and become closer and closer to my Heavenly Father and my wife and my family. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Have a great Weekend!

kent is my model

In my photo class for this semester, we are required to take specific pictures each week. This week was Fast shutter speed, and next week is slow shutter speed. Shutter speed refers to the amount of time you allow your camera's shutter to be open (to let in more light or less). Clear as mud? - as my 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Claussen would say.

Utah was fun.
