breathing treatment

It looks like he is sick and I fed him grapes.

He is ill and I did give him grapes! But really he's just puffin along on his breathing treatment. Kent has athsma, and it's been pretty bad in our apartment that still has a faint smell of smoke from the previous owners.

It will only get better from here! hopefully.

Last night we ate arctic circle shakes with the Raricks and told funny stories.
I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

Our life is complete

Lately we have been playing games. Lots of games. We bought our favorite with gift cards and recieved regular playing cards from our reception in Utah. While I sorted the blue, Kent sorted the red. I thought it was awesome how we laid them out and how they kind of represent our personalities.

We seriously play at least a couple games before we go to bed. I know what we will be doing when we grow old together :)

4 wheelin'

Went back to work today! Forgot how to do some little tricks on photoshop... here comes the youtube refreshers.

We went 4 wheeling tonight and all I have to say is, when a bug gets into your eye first instinct is to get it out, second is to squish it. I squished so many bugs in my eyes - but it was so. worth. it.

This Morning

This morning was productive. At 5:45am Kent woke me up by snuggling in basketball clothes to go play basketball with our neighbor, Tim. He came back what seemed to me like 10 minutes later, clean from a shower to snuggle some more. At 10am I finally woke up, ate a cupcake, joined twitter, and now I'm blogging!

Summer happens too fast but seems so long. Here are the things I don't want to forget about:
Making a pinata with my siblings
Traveling to Utah
Going to Kent's mission
Getting Married(!)
Star Gazing
Playing uno and beating Kent 20 rounds to 13
Rodeo in Evanston, WY and eating peanut butter balls
Drive in Movie to see the Bourne movie
Swimming in the lake
Celebrating President Monson's Birthday with the Rarick's
Cleaning the Rarick's home in American Fork
Getting locked out of our apartment
Camping, UNO robato :)
going to 3 different temples
Weddings
Catching fireflies
Card games
Letters

and so much more.

one of those

Today was one of those Sundays where I was so thankful. We came home from church where people greeted us and made us feel welcome - in Idaho! I never give Utah-ans and Idaho people credit for being friendly at church, because they usually aren't from my experience. I sat by a friendly lady with a baby named Ruby that kept grabbing my dress in Relief Society. Fun times!

Then we came home to our 6 jars of applesauce and bag of munchies. Yay for not shopping like responsible married people. We have such amazing friends, who invited us over for lunch and anytime we want to crash on their hide a bed and watch netflix. We seriously love you guys!

After an hour of "Beethoven" we left just in time to take a breathing treatment at our apartment. Then the Raricks had us over for dinner! We ate on the driveway with everyone and while cleaning up, Jodi kicked the house and found a wasp nest. While destroying this nest, we found 3 more. This is what we spent our time doing the next 2 hours. Four Square, then scripture study talking about our mother's. I am so nervous but excited to be a mother. I love mine and the things she taught me.

I am so excited to be in this time of life with Kent. We are still students, but embracing the poor, newly married life. In 2-3 years we will (hopefully) be gone from Rexburg, new adventures at a new school with maybe a little one. Things are so good and I'm so happy. If I could wrap this little moment we are in now I would, so I could remember. Photos will do for now. (I seriously think that's why I take so many).

>>Update: Our first two months of marriage = travel.
Married, Honeymoon to CA, My parent's house, travel through Oklahoma to Utah, Kent's parent's house, currently we are living in the Rarick's Apartment that they rent out in Sugar City ID, then it will be our real one (in 2 weeks).

It will not hit me that we will be staying there for a while when we move in. I'm just not used to that.

On the road again

You know that moment when you feel like you have worn the perfect outfit for the perfect day? I can't wait for those moments to happen this fall. I love the frigid air (not the cold) and to be wrapped tight in a cardigan or coat or arms of Kent...

Anyway, I wore the wrong kind of outfit today. We finished helping the Rarick's clean up their yard that was full of broken tree branches and I wore Capri's. My legs are covered in scratches that make me feel good and that I accomplished something. I also have that achey feeling in my muscles. (Haven't felt that in a while).

Marriage is awesome but why do we always feel so lazy?! We went running a couple weeks ago. I could not breathe for the life of me! I blame it on the elevation. But there was also smoke in the air from the fires. And I'm out of shape.

We have two Jilian Michael videos that I'm excited to do with Kent. We did one once at my house, and then haven't found the time to do it again. It just gets me more and more excited to have our own apartment soon.

I don't ramble very often, but right now I've found some time to just sit and think and type. Kent is playing basketball and I'm packing. and blogging.

So the point of my post is that we are leaving TOMORROW! I can't believe this day is here! I am so excited that I even skipped dinner!

There is so much to do and I'm pinning things. yep.

jump for joy!

my sweetheart

Found this fun video and song.
Love how they sing the chorus.

Formal Introduction

This is Kent Buys, he is my husband. I thought I would interview him for you so that you could meet him personally through this blog. Here we go.

What did you do today? Worked my butt off. Doing what? Yard work, Removed trees, took them to the dump, and had lunch at In-N-Out.

How do you feel about "Chinese Elm" Trees? I HATE THEM exclamation point times 3. Like Tim Said, "No one in their right mind would plant that tree on purpose."

Are you excited for Rexburg?! I am excited. and nervous for school. I'm excited to get our own place and to be a married student. Except for the cold though, but we will have a car!

How do you feel about the Olympics ending so soon? aw so sad. I wish they would be on every day, year round. So disappointing.

What was your favorite event of the Olympics to watch? Probably the USA soccer beating Japan. And also basketball - they dominated.

How many kids do you want to have? um 4-6. 4 is a good number and 6 is crazy, but I'm crazy myself!

Is that a tasty cookie? One of the best I've ever had.

Is there an ice cream flavor that you just can't live without? Peanut Butter Cup

What is your eye color? blue/green

Favorite song at the moment? I'm wide awake - katy perry (continues to sing it)

If you had $20 how would you spend it? I would buy us tickets to a BYU football game.

Dream second honeymoon? Hawaii or Italy.

Biggest pet peeve? Disrespect and Rudeness.

Something you cannot sleep without? You (did you ask me that on purpose)?

Did you know that I find you incredibly attractive every stinkin day? "me? Thanks babe."

What is your advice to your fellow newly-weds? Be kind and patient. It doesn't matter who is right/wrong. Forgive and forget.

The best moments are halfway waking up and having snuggle time for like 10 minutes.
He really is the best.

Best

Lately I've been pinning too much on my "yums" board: here.
Tonight Kent and I are actually going to make one of the creations: here.
This weekend we are going camping! yes! With awesome people! double yes!

This past Friday we went to a temple sealing, boy was it a good reminder and such a fun day for us. The next day we went to the Jordan River Temple and that just filled us with what was missing. I love the temple! It makes us so happy!!!!! :D

Stay tuned for an interview with Kent. He is the best.

Also we are serving our fellow man "the Rarick's" this week and it is the best. They are awesome people. We are way excited to be their upper neighbors (live in their apartment upstairs) THIS THURSDAY!!!!

hallelujah.

Just can't get enough

Grumpy Bug

Lately I've been grumpy. I got home from Kansas and everything was perfect, then it all went downhill. I got off the plane to a husband in a $20 new shirt, clean shaven with a cute goatee, and flowers. Nothing better than to be back with my love. Then life started hitting me in the face and we end work this week with the worst house to clean EVER. So I'm grumpy and I take it out on those around me, sounds good right? Funny how that doesn't work. Kent and I had a heart to heart in Walmart, so I think we're better.

Wow. It's been a month. I'll get it up soon.

This Monday marks our journey to "on our own as a married couple, finally."
SO PUMPED!!!!

We're buying a bed. Not that our 20 year old mattress and broken box spring isn't awesome. Just a small upgrade :) This week of work in this stinky house is actually a blessing and will buy our bed.

We worked for 4 hours this morning then got released to go home early.
So I took a 4 hour nap.

Eagle Mountain Fires again!? So smokey here.

Sent out 30 Thank you's yesterday. Still like 1543 behind! Not really..

For FHE last night we started out on a scripture chase, but we ended up in a tickle fight.

Back from Kansas.

This past weekend my friend flew me out to Kansas to shoot her wedding. It was so much fun going back to where I, just 1.5 months ago, got married. Being away from Kent was the hardest thing ever! And it was only like 2 days! But we got through it. whew.

During the reception of this wedding I got my plate, sat down and bowed my head. After like a minute of thanking Heavenly Father for all the safe traveling and good shooting during the day, I realized my prayer was getting long and people were probably looking at me. Quickly said amen and got on to the BBQ chicken.A man started walking over to me, sat down next to me and said, "I respect you for your prayer." "Oh, thank you." Then he said, "You don't see that much now days, thank you." I watched him as he walked away and thought of how one little thing I did meant so much to him. That moment made me so grateful for prayer and how Heavenly Father still cares about his children. Through that man I was able to know I was doing a good thing.

CHICK FIL A

Making history RIGHT HERE.
Tonight Kent took me on a little date and informed me what was going on.
read it.

It felt so cool to be standing in line, everyone supporting the same thing.

45 minutes and patience later we got our food.
I love America.

Then we went to the cookie store and ate a cookie telling each other something wonderful about the other person. Cutest date award goes to Kent Buys.

Ode to Roommates

Remember this picture?
Maybe not because I haven't posted it here.
These were once my amazing roommates Fall 2011.
During this time Kent and I were dating. We all became close and we are all still friends :)

They came to our Utah open house along with almost all my roommates from Fall 2011 - Winter 2012! We were just missing Sarah! THEY ARE THE BEST!!!

So after this photo was taken, Addie and Christine asked me if we could open our present now.

It was our baby, "Ben" and a photo album to go with it! The photos were of my roommates babysitting and taking really good care of our child.

So here is the update of how Ben is doing.
Oh, I put him in his girl clothes.
Learning to sit
His crib
Mom and dad's bed

Family!
Don't know how his eyes got so blue!

haha I love you guys.
