Howdy!
This weeks readings from the Acts have been a lot of fun and a lot of Paul! ha
We studied chapters 9, and 13-18. These verses talk a lot about Paul, his conversion, and his journey's or missions spreading the gospel to Jew and Gentile. Paul had a couple of mission companions during these journeys and they had some amazing experiences and some scary ones.
His mission companions were Barnabus and later Silas. It was amazing the miracles that they were able to perform and the reactions of the people after. One of the stories that I really enjoyed reading and studying was when Paul was companions with Barnabus and they went into a city called Lystra. They found a person that had been crippled since birth and they could tell that this person had Faith and they told him to stand up and he stood up and walked.
The people watching all went crazy and were praising Paul and Barnabus as though they were gods. It was neat to see how Paul and Barnabus reacted. In Acts Chapter 14:14-15 it says: "Which when the apostles, Barnabus and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? Who also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and things that are therein."
It's amazing how humble they were and how they recognized that these were the works of God and that they were instruments in his hands. After they said these things, the multitude completely changed and stoned Paul and drew him out of the city and left him for dead. The disciples found Paul and he said to the disciples that in order to enter into the kingdom of God, we must with much tribulation continue in the faith.
I am grateful for Paul's sacrifices and example of Diligence and of Faith. I hope that when we are going through a tough trial or feeling down, that we will remember what Paul taught and move forward and continue in the faith. I know that our Heavenly Father is aware of all of us and is always there to comfort and bless us with those things we need in our lives in the moment we need them.
Tenga una semana bien buena! Have a great Week!
